LET US GO TO GAZA!

“And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert” (Acts 8:26).
Philip heard very well and clear, the Lord was leading him to Gaza. What is Gaza? In this context it was a desert; “a dry land”. It was a place that seemed to be without potentials, and never appeared promising for life or ministry. But Philip was led to go there. Here was a man who was doing great exploits in the “cities”, and now God was telling him to go to a desert place.
If I were Philip, perhaps I would reason and ask God questions: ‘God, me to the desert? Why me? Why the desert? Why not a big city? Why not an outwardly flamboyant sister for marriage?’ It would have appeared like a demotion in spiritual manifestations and exploits after all the cities impact. Infact, I am aware Philip knew scripture and perhaps had come across where it was written about Gaza thus: “For Gaza shall be forsaken” (Zeph. 2:4). “Baldness is come upon Gaza” (Jer. 47:5).
All these showed that the place God was leading Philip looked like a bald and forsaken place. No one would expect any good thing to come out from there. But Philip obeyed, and off to Gaza he went…and the rest is history. He won a big fish (the Ethiopian eunuch) to Heaven (Acts 8:27-40). God had a reason for leading him that way, and Gaza became fruitful at last!
Friend, it is possible God is asking you to take a step concerning something and it appears like that is a trip to “Gaza” to you. It may look unpromising or without prospects…but if it is God, be sure there is something great He wants to accomplish in your life and through your life. It could be martially, and God is telling you about a particular brother, but in your assessment the brother may be like “Gaza” (unpromising by human assessment). But I tell you, God will never lead His children amiss.
Friend, what is that place or thing that the Lord is asking you to do but it sounds like “Gaza”? God never disappoints and never makes mistakes. “But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty” (1 Cor. 1:27). He makes something out of nothing and makes a zero becomes a hero. That trip to “Gaza” may be what will set you up to greatness in life.
 LET US GO TO GAZA!
This is my night thought. Beautiful night to all.
