Be a door to someone to Heaven and not a
barrier. Be sure your life is not an obstacle to people who would have
otherwise come to God. It is eternally unhealthy for people to be
seperated (run away) from God just because of your attitudes, lifestyle,
words and other (wrong) things you do. Your life should not block
another man's way to Heaven. Today, many who would have embraced God's
love are distant from Him because they
found those who should have shown them the way in words and deeds living
the opposite of what they profess. The truth is that, there is no way
you will deny somebody from making Heaven because of your
incorrect/faulty/questionable life and yet you will expect God to open
the gate of Heaven to you. Check: your dressing could be sending others
to Hell via lust and fornication in heart; your character/attitude (of
arrogance, wickedness, corruption, cheating, etc) could be repelling
others from accepting Christ. Our lives preach better and more
convincingly than our words. Let your life preach Christ and not send
(innocent) people to Hell.
"But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire." (Matthew 18:6-9).
