PURSUING AND POSITIONING FOR DIVINE PURPOSE
TEXTS: John 6:38; Acts 26:16; Romans 8:28; Ephesians 1:11
As we round off this blessed, insightful and exciting series
on God’s purpose today, we shall unveil some practical guides that are able to
usher a person into God’s purpose for living.
1. SEEK GOD’S PURPOSE
FOR YOUR LIFE (Discovery Phase)
Don’t live life as it comes. Don’t let life dictate to you what
to do; let God lead you on what to do with life. You are not meant to be everybody
or to be like somebody; you were made to be like God and live for Him. You are
not here by accident; you are here on purpose. Ask God why He brought you here.
Discovery can come through hearing God directly, through your God-given
gift(s), from your areas of interest and service, via rightful associations,
etc. The discovery of purpose is the beginning of living.
2. EXPAND YOUR PURPOSE (Development
Phase)
This involves working on your purpose, seeking more knowledge
through training, studying, association, etc.
3. PAY THE PRICE
Purpose comes with a price; something you may have to
sacrifice or a process you may have to go through which may not be convenient
but it’s needful. Be willing to pay any positive price and you will get the
prize.
4. START SMALL
Never be afraid to start small, but don’t remain small –
grow!
“Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should
greatly increase” (Job 8:7).
If you are waiting to have everything to step out, you may
never step out until time runs out.
5. FOLLOW RIGHT
ASSOCIATIONS
Locate the people God has raised to help you fulfil purpose
and stay close to them. Stay away from purpose killers and destiny terminators.
“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion
of fools shall be destroyed” (Proverbs 13:20).
6. IGNORE
DISCOURAGEMENTS
Be focused on two places: firstly, Heaven above, and then the
future ahead. Don’t allow gossips, envies, discouragements distract you.
7. BE SENSITIVE TO DIVINE
LEADING AND TIMING
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose
under the heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
8. BE PREPARED TO GO
HOME
God’s plan for your life is beyond this life, it extends to
eternity. When life here is over, God wants to have you back with Him in
Heaven. Don’t be so carried away by living life here and forget the life in
eternity. So, live ready; live holy…always be on readiness because God’s plan and
purpose for rapture is bigger than any plan and purpose on earth.
Finally, my book DREAMS, VISIONS AND GREATNESS is inspired to
help God’s children fulfil God’s purpose. It is coming soon. I pray for you for
a purposeful living and Heaven at last. Maranatha.
