STANDING ON GRACE

The grace of God is not a license to sin or to continue in sin. It empowers to overcome sin. Do not sleep in sin in the name of grace…many have done only to sleep and wake up on the other side where grace becomes unable to save anymore.
Do not continue in sin and refer to one grace that in your own understanding will close the eyes of God to your sin. It is error and heresy when people are taught that they should not worry about falling into sin because God is full of grace and merciful. They are thus licensed to sin and the hatred for sin is no more. They teach people that some things (masturbation, smoking, alcohol) are not sin but bad habits…and unfortunately because people want to hear what they love to hear, they capitalize on it and use the so-called “bad habits” and availability of grace to commit sin. The truth is that, “Anyone that commits sin (wilfully) is of the devil” (1 John 3:8). And also, “How can we continue in sin and ask grace to abide God forbid” (Romans 6:1, 2a).
Let us not rejoice in wrongdoing all in the name of grace. Grace is not a license to commit sin. “For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins” (Hebrews 10:26). Proverbs 8:36 says “But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death”.
Grace does not mean we should relax and be comfortable in sin…rather, grace teaches us and helps us to say NO when sin comes our way. “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men; teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world” (Titus 2:11, 12). Grace teaches us to say NO to sin and other evil vices and not to rejoice and be comfortable with them.
Grace helps us to stand and not to find comfort in falling. “By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God” (Romans 5:2).
Do not continue to say yes and give in to sin simply because there is grace. This is not the life and working of grace. It is an act of abuse and frustration of grace, thus making it of none and vain effect.
Walk in the positive light of grace – a life empowered to live holy. Let grace channel you in the paths of righteousness and order your steps in complete obedience. Do not remain in the ways of sin (and death) and sit under a minister/preacher who will motivate you to live on because there is grace in abundance. Do not continue to live in sin and instead of repenting and turning completely to God you continue to confess grace and God’s love because some preachers are misleading people with sweet and exciting gospel of success but no salvation or holiness. In the grave, grace may become over, friend. The wages of sin is not grace…it is death (Romans 6:23). Allow grace take you from the backyards of sin into the palace where righteousness and true greatness dwells.
Grace is able to keep you from falling. Let us begin to see grace in the light of its divine and spiritual ability to keep us from falling. “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy” (Jude 1:24).
The way to go is to die to sin daily. Paul did not say ‘I died last week’, rather he said, “I DIE DAILY” (1 Corinthians 15:31). This is how grace can be graceful and work for and in us even when we sin and fall short of God’s expectations. Though there be grace, but hate sin, flee from sin, never rejoice or find pleasure in sin, and above all, die (to sin) daily.
I pray that God’s mercies will help us in every area of our lives where we need Him to step up our Heavenly race. Remember, life is not a game; it is a race…do not play game with your eternity. Let us stand by grace…GRACE IS NOT A SINKING SAND; IT IS A STANDING ROCK.
