Spiritual
warfare involves 2 arms;
1. Defensive warfare
2. Offensive warfare
Many
people are scared of offensive warfare because they believe that if you go all
out against the enemy, then you provoke the devil to become more aggressive
against you. This is a deception from the pit of hell!
As
much as we live without “looking for trouble”, we can get to that point in our
walk (with God and in the Spirit) that our presence sends panic to any
representative of the devil. You cannot be there and the devil won’t know that
you are there.
The
truth is that even when you do not have the intention to worry them, the moment
you set out to pray (and especially in tongues), you are already on the
offensive, and there is no born devil or devil-made demon, or made-in-hell
principality that can operate or oppress.
We
are representatives of God’s kingdom; we carry His unction and presence. Wherever
you are (work place, residential environment, etc), let your presence define your
territory as no-go-area for any worker of evil. In your office, let every voice
of oppressor be silenced by your voice in prayers. Once I noticed in a place I
work that someone was in the (evil) attitude of oppressing some subordinates
and causing deep pains and tears for many, I perceived a dimension to it (the oppressive
spirit of Pharaoh at work). Even though I was not affected by the person’s
attitude, I said to myself, “how can I be in a place and the spirit of
oppression would have a free day”. I set out to blast down every spiritual
voice of oppression. Halleluyah! It is my territory, not an oppressor’s
territory, because “The earth is the
Lord’s (including my office) and the fullness thereof” (Psalm 24:1).
The
best way to defend is to attack, and in this case not deliberate attack. It is
that point you get to that in prayers and by your presence, you take authority
of everywhere you step into (hotel, restaurant, office, etc) the very moment
you arrive there. The devil should know you are around in a place per time. You
are too loaded to be offloaded by sickness, devils or death...and just too
rooted in God to be uprooted by the enemy.
We
are not trying to defeat the devil; he has been defeated already. We are
maintaining the victory and keep him where he belongs – a defeated estate. So,
keep winning. Glory!
