UNDERSTANDING THE NATURE OF GOD’S TIMING (1)

TEXT: Genesis 18:14
God is a God of time and timing. Everyone with whose lives God did anything great and eternal, it happened at God’s timing and not theirs. Abraham inherited the promise of a child at God’s time. There is a time that the devil cannot withstand or oppose; it is God’s time. It is the time God makes things beautiful.
Many are in a hurry in life; some could not wait a little longer and have given in to compromise because they failed to understand the nature of God’s timing. What then is the nature of God’s timing?
1. It is certain to come no matter how long it seems to take (Habakkuk 2:3; Genesis 17:17).
God’s timing is pillared by His word, His will and His purpose/plan. As long as God’s word cannot fail, God’s timing cannot fail. There are times it appears like what God told you won’t come again. But if it is God, it will come! And the time it comes is God’s best time.
2. It will come regardless of human limitation or imagination
Abraham and Sarah had limitations biologically. Sarah’s womb was described as dead while Abraham’s body was described as dead also (Romans 4:19). Sarah was in menopause and Abraham in andropause. But the two (2) pauses put together didn’t matter when God pressed the “play” button and Isaac came. When it is God’s time to fulfil His word, no devil, no illness, no unfavourable situation or protocol can stop it. When it was time for Jesus to resurrect, the soldiers could not stop it; the devil could not stop it; the stone on the tomb could not stop it…it was written to happen on the third day and it happened because it was time!
I want to speak to your life now in Jesus’ name…it does not matter how old you think you are, you are not older than Abraham and Sarah. It is never too late for God to save you, to help you, to give you a child, a job, a life partner, and what you trust Him for. Amen.
Pray with me;
“Lord, thank you because there is hope for me because I put my trust in you. And I confess that my help comes from you alone. Today, I confess that Your word, Your will and Your purpose/plan prevail over every area of my life (financial, marital, academic, career, family, etc) in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
