ENFORCING OPEN HEAVENS

TEXT: 2 CHRONICLES 7:12-14
Many are working but the output is not commensurate with the input. Many people labour but still find themselves distanced from favour. Some conclude that the place they are is either cursed or the land is unfruitful. This is the case when the grounds are closed under whatever circumstance. And when a man’s ground is closed, his life is closed and he is locked out of divine destiny.
There are certain things that can close up a man’s ground, but the strongest of these is closed Heavens. When the Heavens over a man’s life are closed, there is nothing that he does that will work. Today we consider five (5) out of many ways to ensure and enforce an Open Heaven.
i) GENUINE REPENTANCE
One thing that can close up the Heavens over a man is sin (2 Chronicles 6:26). If sin closed it up, it will take genuine repentance to open it. If there is sin in your life you have to cry out to God for forgiveness. However many are crying to men instead of crying to God.
ii) EFFECTIVE AND PRAVAILING PRAYERS
It took prayers for Elijah to enforce re-opening of the Heavens (James 5:18a). It wasn’t the prayers that shut the Heavens that opened it; Elijah prayed again. You must be a man of prayer to enjoy a life of Open Heavens.
iii) A LIFE OF HUMILITY
The Heavens over a proud man is closed. But when a man lives in humility Heavens will open (2 Chronicles7:14). Humility makes grace available, and the grace of humility connects with the grace of divinity to cause Open Heavens.
iv) CONSISTENT SEEKING OF GOD
Seek God through consistent reading/studying of His word. Seek His face in prayers. Look to God and not man. When you seek Him, you will find Him (Matthew 7:7).
v) A PLEASING LIFE TO GOD
When the Heaven over Jesus was opened God declared: “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17). A life that is pleasing to God commands Open Heaven from God.
As you commit to doing what is required, may God open any closed Heaven over your life, ministry, family, career, etc in Jesus’ name.
