THE WAYS OF HUMILITY (2)

>> SPIRITUAL DIVIDENDS OF A HUMBLE HEART
TEXTS: Proverbs 22:4; 1 Peter 5:5
Today we cap up on the spiritual values and virtues of humility. Every man whose life counted in Biblical history and who made Heaven had humility as a lifeline onto greatness.
We are in a time when the world confuses meekness for weakness and seeks to take advantage of humble people, but it is just a matter of time, the meek will hit the peak. Meekness places a man on God’s priority list. We consider few of the rewards for a humble life:
1. DIVINE PRESERVATION
The eyes of God are upon the humble man, and when God watches over you, the devil that will hurt you does not exist. Humility emits an aura around you that chokes any evil presence. Moses was preserved from several antagonisms; Pharaoh could not touch him, the wilderness could not hurt him, even when Aaron and Miriam spoke against him, God appeared in his defense.  How come? “Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth” (Numbers 12:3).
2. PURE PROMOTION
“Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:4).
A humble heart is the connector of a great life. Humility is an incontestable platform for lifting in life.
(Psalm 147:6; 1 Peter 5:6; James 4:10;Job 22:29)
3. ABUNDANCE OF GRACE
A proud man will soon run out of grace, but humility makes grace available. There is an atmosphere of grace around a humble man. It is this ‘graceosphere’ (atmosphere of grace) that attracts God, glory and goodness his direction. A humble man is a mobile carrier of divine presence: he is unstoppable, “unhiddeable”, and “unkillable”.
(James 4:6; 1 Peter 5:5b)
4. GUARANTEED ACCESS TO GOD AND ANSWERS TO PRAYERS
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven” (2 Chronicles 7:14a).
5. ETERNAL LIFE
Pride is a spiritual weight and counts against the individual in eternity. But humility brings “riches, and honour, and life”, and this life is that which is eternal.
“Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished” (proverbs 16:5).
Beloved, I recommend to you an assured way to true greatness – the way of humility. Peace.
