PURSUING THE WILL OF GOD (1)

TEXTS: Acts 13:36
Submission to God is not complete when it leaves out the will of God. What will stand against some people in eternity is not because they lived in sin, but they lived outside God’s will;
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21).
Salvation is a call to work, but when the work done is outside God’s will, work done therefore equals zero.
Submission to God’s will is the point of surrender when you release your life, choices and decisions to God, not for want of your will, but because you have trust in God’s will and whatever He chooses for you.
No man is bigger than God’s will. No dimension of anointing can replace God’s will. Anointing will create impact, but the impact that will truly count in Heaven and reverberate in eternity is that which is birth, not by the will of men, but by the will of God.
The categories of will that confront a man include:
1. Self will
2. The will of men
3. The will of God
Even Jesus was faced with all three; his will was for the cup to pass over Him (Matthew 26:39); the disciples will was for Him not to die (Matthew 16:21-23), but He surrendered to the will of God and went for the cross (Philippians 2:8). The point of victory, though glaring on the cross, was actually on the knees bent in prayers when in tears He surrendered to divine will. The place of stepping down from your will and allowing God’s will is the birthplace of a victorious life. When you step down for God, you will step up in life!
POSITIONING FOR DIVINE WILL
1. Be determined to seek out God’s will no matter what it costs and how long it takes (Colossians 1:9)
- To find God’s will is to discover God’s way, and when you find God’s way, you will not only go far in life, you will rise up in rapture.
There are people who have never settled down to find out God’s will for their lives rather they pursue the wind (uncertainties), hang their destinies on chance and tie their eternity to luck. The truth is that, destiny happens by choice and nobody will make Heaven by chance. It is those who seek Him that will be found by Him (Matthew 7:7).
The man Ezra, with all his knowledge, unction and connection, he sought God’s will for life:
“Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance” (Ezra 8:21).
One of the most dangerous persons to associate with or commit your life to is the person who does not know and is not concerned about God’s will for his life.
The devil’s major target in the battle against a believer is to keep him from God’s will or frustrate him out of God’s will. In this way many have changed jobs in the name of bigger opportunities but do not realise they were victims of devil’s scam and destiny swap. It is not everything that appears good that is from God.
Your own will may bring results on earth, but God’s will guarantees rewards in eternity. The will of your mentor, father and friends may take you far, but the will of God will take you eternally. Self-will is a result of selfishness and short-sightedness. Those who see and seek far go for God’s will.
PRAYERS:
-          Lord, help me find your will for my life, destiny and assignment; I refuse to leave my life and future to chance and luck.
-          Father, ground me in your will and let nothing pull me or push me away from your will Jesus’ name.
