OUR PLACES OF ASSIGNMENT (1)

“For I must preach the Kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent” (Luke 4:43).
As God’s children, we must understand 2 things about our earthly assignments;
1.      A place called ‘Present Place of Assignment’ (PPA)
2.      The place called ‘Next Place of Assignment’ (NPA)
There are times when the Lord tells us our assignments in certain places are over, and needs us to move to another place where He had ordained for us to work (for Him). But many times, we are often reluctant to move when God says we should move. That is the point many come up with excuses. Oftentimes, we get so comfortable in the ‘Present Place of Assignment’ (maybe because of our jobs, income, earthly connections, etc) that we lose touch with the next program for our lives on God’s agenda.
NOTE:
·         You are living life not to fulfil the will of your pastor, mentor, family, or your flesh, but to serve the will of God. To live outside God’s will is to endanger one’s eternity.
“For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep” (Acts 13:36).
Many people have scripted a place for God in their lives and there are areas of their lives that are like no-go-areas for God. They now remote control their lives. But this is wrong and carries (both earthly and eternal) consequences. God should be the centre of our lives, if not, things will fall apart eventually.
·         It is your assignment that determines your location in life. It is not your location that determines your assignment. The pulling force in our lives should be beyond what we will eat, wear or earn as salary...it should be the assignment that God created us to carry out here on earth.
·         When you are committed to your divine assignment, then God will be committed to your earthly consignment (blessings attached to the assignment). Unfortunately, we most times drop our assignments (God’s purpose for our existence) and pursue after consignments (money, jobs, clothes, etc). People who leave their assignments for consignments do not last; ask Gehazi! He left his assignment as a prophet and began chasing consignments (of money and raiments) brought by Naaman. He ended as a leper and story teller.
May we not disappoint God over the assignments He has committed onto us. And what is this assignment?
Glimpse into the nature of our earthly assignments
Look at this: Heaven has different ministries and parastatals (like the earthly government copied). There are Heavenly ministries of transport, health, trade and industries, etc. Some of us have been posted by Heaven to the ministry of health as doctors, nurses, scientists, etc. Some have been posted to the trade and commerce ministry as (earthly) food vendors, market traders, etc. Some in the Heaven’s transport ministry have been designated as earthly drivers, bus conductors, etc. This is an Heavenly agenda to have kingdom representatives in virtually all spheres of human endeavours. The purpose of Heaven in doing this is so that the earth can be filled with the knowledge of the glory of God.
Therefore friend, it is not a mistake that you are where you are. God has put you there for one reason: to represent Heaven in the way you live, work, and to reach out to the unsaved so that Hell can be depopulated and Heaven becomes populated. This is your assignment where you are. Understand that you are not where you are just to make money, but to save lives.
And know this; as you serve faithfully in your ‘Present Place of Assignment’, God will promote you to another level with rewards of financial and material blessings, and above all, a place in Heaven. It is this Heavenly promotion that people see and they say you are making it, for instance, changing from a lower paying job to a higher paying job. It comes by faithfulness to your assignment.
 “And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities” (Luke 19:17).
“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? (Luke 16:10-11)
