One
single night can cause a lifetime of transformation. It was all in a single
night that Jacob had the (divine) encounter that permanently defined his
destiny by God and for good (Genesis 32:24-27). The truth is that, what you do
with your night is what becomes of your life! (READ ON)
I was watching a
documentary about the lion; it says the lion prefers to hunt at night because
that is when its vision is about 6 times sharper than human. The power of the
lion is therefore vested in its vision which has an unparallel capacity and
advantage at night.
Jesus is The Lion of the
Tribe of Judah, and one of His earthly secrets was the fact that He used the
night to pray while others including His disciples slept. It is this same principle
of the night that lions use to operate and overcome their prey.
The night is an
important aspect of a man’s life. It is a danger to your destiny and then
eternity for you to sleep all nights. The night time is when your capacity for
vision increases. Those who see far see it best at night. In the Bible, visions
that were pivotal in men’s pursuit of destiny and greatness came in the night.
Paul had been restricted
by the Spirit from going to preach in some places and then suddenly, “And a vision appeared to Paul in the
night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into
Macedonia, and help us” (Acts 16:9). The vision for direction came at
night! The night time is when any destiny-conscious and eternity-driven
believer would cherish because that is when the vision for greatness becomes
sharper. To enjoy sleeping all your night is to sleep off your life and watch
your destiny slip away.
Daniel and his 3
friends prayed (all day), and when the answer came, it came at night: “Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel
in a night vision” (Daniel 2:19). How come the night is so empowered to
enhance vision? I wish I know...but I think I know why only few great men exist;
many sleep off their nights while only a few maximize the supernatural
potentials embedded in the night.
The night time is so
important in God’s order of things such that the coming of Jesus is likened to
the coming of “a thief in the night”
(1 Thessalonians 5:2). The night time is an altar that can either make a man or
break the man. Here are a few of several visitations of the night with eternal
consequences;
-
The visions of angels that heralded
Jesus’ birth came while the shepherds watched their flock by night.
-
When Herod became a threat, Jesus’
parents escaped with Him at night.
-
The killers also esteemed the night when
they lied that Jesus’ disciples stole Him away at night.
-
The visit that changed the life of
Nicodemus was when he came to Jesus at night.
He feared to come in the day so he came at night when they would neither see
him nor be able to do anything about him...this tells me that some enemies are
helpless, clueless and vision-less at night. This is why we can thrive on the
wings of the night vision.
-
Paul escaped through a basket from the
enemies at night.
-
Peter’s deliverance from Herod was at night.
-
It was at night that God smote the firstborns of the Egyptians.
-
God appeared to Solomon at night and gave him a blank cheque.
Friend, what do you do
with your night? Just sleep? Not good enough! Sleep has stolen many destinies
and concealed many manifestations. Start investing into your future by sowing
into your nights. If you want to go far in life, join the night ride of express
visions. Make time out; pray in the night, study the word in the night,
meditate at night, write down your dreams and visions at night, conceive new
ideas in the night, make plans at night, launch into the future at night. The
night is loaded! Do not let this night pass you by.
