WHY SOME PRAYERS GO UNANSWERED(1)

TEXT: James 4:3

It is Friday and there is no doubt that God has been faithful – to Him be all the praise. I thank God for your life. It is true that you may not be where you dreamt to be, but it is also true that you are not where you used to be…your life has changed for good and for God. Glory!

As we step into the weekend we begin to take a look at that same spiritual virtue that the devil has for ages been unable to find solution to…it is called PRAYERS! Today we take it from a mid-point, looking at why some prayers go unanswered. You may just learn something new and you can share with others.

(1) GOD DOES NOT HEAR SINNERS (John 9:31a)

The problem with a sinner who prays any other prayer apart from the ‘prayer of salvation’ is that God does not hear him/her. It is not about whether God didn’t answer; God didn’t hear (Isaiah 59:1-2). The only prayer of a sinner that reaches God is when he/she comes to God in genuine repentance and prays for forgiveness.

(2) PRAYER OUTSIDE GOD’S WILL (1 John 5:14-15)

It is possible to pray for 24hours straight; truly, God will hear (once you are His child), but if it is outside His will, it will not be answered. Nothing gives prayer the platform for answer as the will of God. What makes the difference is not the length or time of prayer, it is whether it is according to God’s will. Five (5) minutes prayer in His will is superior to five (5) days prayer coupled with fasting but outside His will.

(3) WRONG CONFESSIONS (Numbers 14:28)

By spiritual principle, what you confess is what you will possess. You may pray to have ‘A’, but if you go confessing ‘B’, what you will receive is not what you prayed but what you confessed.

“Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you” (Numbers 14:28).

There are people who would pray about something and the next moment they are out complaining about say thing to another person and speaking negatively with no single dot of faith. Listen to this; what determines answers to prayers isn’t just what you said in the place of prayer but what you say with your mouth and your life outside the place of prayer. Your confession attracts your possession.

Beloved, you have been praying; it is time to start praying right. It is right prayers and right lifestyles that bring right answers. It is time to get it right and as you do it will amaze you how prayers work wonders and speedily. Have a pleasant weekend.
