NECESSITY FOR SPIRITUAL GROWTH (2)

>>> 5 PLUSES OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH
TEXT: 1 Samuel 2:26
A closer look into scriptures would reveal that everyone with whose live God did something tangible and eternal; they were people who grew in God. It is hard for God to move with people opposed to spiritual growth. God isn’t always looking for grown up and matured people, rather He looks for children who are willing to grow into maturity and be available to carry out His purpose for man.
Today on SPIRIT SWORD we continue the series on spiritual growth as we consider some virtues that accompany spiritual growth.
POINT ONE
“And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour both with the LORD, and also with men” (1 Samuel 2:26)
Spiritual growth is a raw material for divine favour. More so, Samuel didn’t become a prophet in one day; he grew in the Lord, and as he did, grace multiplied in his life. God may have plans for your life but you cannot be stagnant and expect to manifest. Stagnation is a killer of manifestation. People do not become great overnight; they grow into greatness (Genesis 26:13).
POINT TWO
“And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel” (Luke 1:80)
Spiritual growth is the life wire of spiritual strength. As you engage in things that bring growth, you acquire strength and spiritual stamina and your spirit’s capacity is both enlarged and solidified. You will find that the things that troubled you in the past cannot trouble you again because your strength has increased. Moses fled from Pharaoh but returned after many years to face the same Pharaoh eye-ball to eye-ball. What gave him the courage? He had grown and acquired spiritual vitality and audacity.
POINT THREE
“And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him” (Luke 2:40).
Anytime you grow spiritually, not only does strength enter you, wisdom comes and grace is increased in you. You must grow in God in order to grow in grace. As you engage in God’s word (one of the raw materials for spiritual growth), your grace level rises because grace travels in the direction of the word.
POINT FOUR
“And Gilead's wife bare him sons; and his wife's sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father's house; for thou art the son of a strange woman” (Judges 11:2)
There are certain spiritual truths that open up to you by the reason of spiritual growth. If you don’t grow, they are concealed. But growth brings knowledge. The devil takes advantage of “growthlessness” to deny people fruitfulness. There are certain secrets about your life that can no longer be concealed because you have grown. If we don’t grow we will be confused by certain strange doctrines and revelations.
POINT FIVE
“And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him” (Judges 13:24).
Sometimes you don’t pray for blessing; you become deserving of blessings by the reason of spiritual growth. When you grow you enter into a realm of unstoppable spiritual blessings. If we can concentrate on making ourselves available to God for spiritual increase, we are undeniable candidates for unprecedented favour and blessing.
Any genuine and Heavenly conscious believer would do more to grow daily. May that be your passion in Jesus’ name.
