NECESSITY FOR SPIRITUAL GROWTH (1)

Any parents with a 5 years old child who hasn’t started walking at that age would not be happy. The child would be less active, less efficient and less productive. There are believers who have failed to grow either because they are resistant to spiritual change or they do not know how to achieve spiritual growth. This is the purpose of this series on spiritual growth – to help willing people shift grounds forward in life and make progress Heaven-ward.
Today we take a look at why it is needful for you to avoid spiritual stagnation and to grow.
(1) TO BEAR FRUITS (Genesis 2:9)
There are certain good/fruits in you, but if you don’t grow the good in you cannot come forth. The good in a tomato seed is not when it remains a seed but when it grows into a plant.
(2) DEMONSTRATION OF AUTHORITY (Galatians 4:1-3)
Maturity is the platform for authority. Until you know who you are, you don’t appreciate what you have. Children are timid, but adults are brave. If you grow you won’t run away from the things you are presently running from.
(3) GROWTH COMES WITH KNOWLEDGE
The more you grow, the more you know. There are certain things God may want to communicate to you but may not because you have not grown to that level to accommodate them.
(4) GROWTH BIRTHS DISCIPLINE (1 Corinthians 13:11)
As you grow, you outgrow certain things. There are places you don’t go to because you are now more disciplined.
(5) GROWTH IS THE FOUNDATION FOR GRACE (Psalm 84:11a)
When you grow spiritually, you connect with grace. If you want more glory in your life, then seek to grow in God.
Beloved, how many years do you want to spend at the level you are? How come you are still the same prayerless person you were 5 years ago? The problem may not be the devil but that you have failed to grow. It is time to get it right.
