(POWER
SERIES)
“Behold, I give unto
you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the
enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19).
Power to overcome power
(not powers). God is aware that there are many powers which include occultic
powers, marine powers, witchcraft powers, demonic powers, satanic powers, even
nuclear, atomic and political powers. So, God combined all these powers
together into one power, and then He gave us a Power that is above this unified
power of the enemy. Glory!
So, the next time one
“small” witch is trying to “fumble” around you and what is yours, you have the
Power to crumble the fumbling demon and disappoint all their enterprise.
Everyone of us needs
power; power to overcome temptation and sin, power to overcome the force of
earthly resistance, power to fulfil divine purpose and destiny, etc...and then
power to operate under divine cover. We also need to use the power of God to
define and mark your territory and declare it a no-go-area for the enemies.
Secure your territory by fire. Put a no-go-area mark on your job, career,
family, academics, finances, house, and everything that concerns you. Declare
that “From
henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord
Jesus” (Galatians 6:17).
Do you know there was a
time the devil could not do anything about Job, his family, his businesses, his
children and everything Job had? Even the devil confessed that his helplessness
about Job was because God had put an hedge round about Job: “Hast
not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he
hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance
is increased in the land” (Job 1:10).
God can also put an
hedge of no-go-area around you and all that is yours. Get it activated by
surrendering all everything (your whole life and all you have) to God. Live a
life pleasing to God in truth and holiness. Pay your tithes. Give and help the
poor and less privilege. And let your (prayer, fasting, Bible study) life
always be on fire for God. And then let us see which enemy will play with fire
and try to embark on an assignment against you. Like I said, a goat that
mistakenly enters the den of lions, that goat will not live to tell its
survival story.
It is only when the
hedge is broken (by sin, infidelity, lukewarmness, etc) that the enemy can have
access into your territory because it is written, “whoso breaketh an hedge, a
serpent shall bite him” (Ecclesiastes 10:8b). I charge you not to allow
anything break you the hedge God has built round you.
And finally, I say it again, ‘Seriously I believe in warfare, but…
“What
will it profit you if you kill all your enemies and then (later) join them in
Hell?”
Spiritual
warfare is good, but your eternal welfare is the most important. Secure your
place in Heaven first of all, and then every other thing (warfare, prosperity,
etc) can follow’.
