>>> POSITIONING FOR GOD’S WILL
TEXTS: Romans
12:2; Colossians 1:9
We began yesterday by looking at
how to be effectively positioned for God’s will. A man cannot be so anointed and
gifted as to operate above God’s will. In other words, no man is above the will
of God. Jesus walked in a tremendous degree of the anointing and power, and yet
He submitted to God’s will; “Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of
the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God” (Hebrews 10:7).
To do God’s will is to do it God’s
way. You cannot do it God’s way and end in a wrong place. If you have overcome
self-will, you have overcome in destiny. If the devil cannot stop you from doing
God’s will, He cannot stop you from fulfilling destiny and from making Heaven.
It is not anointing, gifts or
calling that will guarantee one’s place in eternity, rather it is whether all
these virtues were used in the framework of God’s will or of the will of the
flesh or the will of man (John 1:13).
Today we examine a few more ways to
be positioned to do nothing but God’s will.
POSITIONING
FOR DIVINE WILL CONTINUED
1. Be determined to seek out God’s will no matter what it
costs and how long it takes (Colossians 1:9)
2. DEAL WITH ANY
DISTRACTION TO GOD’S WILL
The devil is not a friend to God’s will and anyone committed
to doing God’s will gives him headache, heartache and sleeplessness. Therefore,
he (the enemy) engages the strategy of distractions in defocusing people from
God’s will.
Distractions to God’s will could come in the form of some “open
doors”, greener pastures, better opportunities, sudden promotions, etc. But,
not every door that opens is of God. Some people have been promoted away from
God’s will while others have embrace greener pastures which have shifted them
from God’s plans. And while they celebrate their new status, the enemy rejoices
because another divine destiny has been closed down.
Distractions can also come in the
form of counsels from friends and families. Some friendships and associations
are distractions if you truly know and mind where God is taking you. Don’t
allow anyone sympathise with you and talk you out of God’s will and plan in the
name of counsel. The way of distraction leads to destruction; beware who you
listen to.
Prayer:
Lord, let every cloud of distraction around me be dissolve by
your presence in Jesus’ name. I confess that I shall walk in divine will always
by God’s help!
